Divorce Reaction

Most children go through their parents' divorce with minimal problems and without permanent long term effects. However, for many kids, witnessing their parents divorce can be traumatic. Sometimes divorcing parents fight in front of the children, make negative statements about the other parent in front of the children or use their kids as a messenger between both homes.

These things negatively impact kids who are trying to make adjustments to their parents' divorce. By providing the space for children to communicate openly, establish boundaries and make choices, we seek to reduce the negative feelings that children have about divorce.
